The Boat - Cartel

Cartel, Prot

Cartel is our second boat, she is primarily used for longer cruises, channel hops and also for some training.

She is a Bavaria 40, built in 2001 and is rated Catagory A. Ocean. This boat has loads of room down below, afforded by it's generous beam, and is also comfortable to sail, and can take heavy seas well.

There are 7 berths on board in three double cabins plus the saloon. Fully fitted Galley, two heads and heating make her ideal for longer voyages in all seasons.

A large furling Genoa gives this boat a good turn of speed evening in light winds, and a slab reefing system on the main with all line running back to the cockpit make sail reduction pretty straightforward when it get blowy

Cartel also has a small library of reference books which can prove quite handy when covering elements of theory.

Finally the Head. Well there is not much to say about this little space on the boat other than it has a better shower than some Marinas I could, but won't mention. Quite handy when you are attached to a mooring buoy for a couple of nights.
